General

• Rare.
• Associated with smoking.

Gross

• Mass lesion - typically upper lobe and peripheral location.

Microsopic

Subclassified as:

• Pleomorphic carcinoma.
• Spindle cell carcinoma.
• Giant cell carcinoma.
• Carcinosarcoma.
• Pulmonary blastoma.

DDx:

• Poorly differentiated lung carcinoma (non-small cell lung carcinoma).
• Primary lung sarcoma.
• Metastatic disease:
  • Carcinosarcoma.
  • Poorly differentiated carcinoma.
  • Sarcoma.
