Minor salivary gland biopsy

Minor salivary gland biopsy specimens are uncommon.

They are usually done to assess if the patient has Sjögren syndrome.

Differential diagnosis

The main differential diagnosis for minor salivary gland biopsy is:

• MALT lymphoma.
• Sjögren syndrome.
• Chronic sialadenitis.
• Salivary gland tumours.
